Problem

Problem

An auto-correlator chip was needed for deriving a signal out of large amplitude noise. The consortium for the Enhanced Very Large Array (EVLA) telescope had a limited budget.

Solution

Solution

iSine designed the chip to use the ACCEL Power Regulator, which regulated the operating voltage to dramatically increase the correlator chip lifetime. 0.13µm semiconductor technology was used.

Results

Results

A 672 pin, 4M gate ASIC was designed and integrated with the ACCEL. iSine did the test and production and had first silicon success. The correlator ASIC is in use in the EVLA radio telescope in New Mexico.
